Shivoham Shiva Temple | Bangalore | Goal of Life: Self-Realization

The Mission of Shivoham Shiva Temple

The Shivoham Shiva Temple is committed to guiding people towards the true goal of life: Self-Realization, God Realization, Moksh, Nirvana, Liberation and Enlightenment. Very few people in this world go on a search, a Talaash for the truth. Most people believe in God, but they don’t pursue to find out the truth behind God, life, and existence. The temple helps such Seekers or Jigyasus progress on the path of liberation. Instead of just performing Poojas that are not understood by people, the Temple Priests will share the true meaning of the Poojas with the seekers, which will help them to go forward on the path of liberation and Moksh. They could choose a Pooja for Moksh, Jivanmukta or Satchitananda, or they may choose a path, a Pooja for Viveka, Vairagya, or Mumukshutva.

Each of these Poojasare very important for the progress toward liberation. Therefore, the temple will help people focus on the right aspects that will lead them forward on their path of liberation.

The Temple Poojaris will not only guide the devotees to perform the Pooja at the temple, but also “give” the Pooja to them so that they can take it back home. The meaning of Mantras will be explained to the devotees so that they can repeat these Poojas and Mantras back at home to continue their efforts on achieving realization and liberation. The pooja cards are available in English, Hindi & Kannada.

On the journey of Self – Realization what does a Seeker need?

A Seeker needs to be in Yoga – union with God. The seeker needs to have Vairagya or renunciation, needs to use the Vivek or the power of discrimination, needs to understand that they are not the body, but the Atman, the soul, needs to have deep love and longing for God which is Mumukshutva. They must be in a state of eternal bliss or Satchitananda.

The Seeker wants to be a Jivanmukta – one who is liberated when alive or to achieve the state of Shivoham – experiencing God within, on their way to the final destination of Moksh or Nirvana or Liberation.
